I believe, like Maria that the success of Orban is owed to his being seen as an independent voice for Hungary against the bid bad EU. But that is only a partial reason.

But the crux of the matter is that Orban owes allegiance to the theocratic extreme Chrsitian right that is directly connected to the US and many other countries engaged in a growing fascist international.

Capitalism is now more of an economic nationalism than a global capitalist movement.

In fact, the nationalism of today is comparable on many levels with 1914.

Tyrants like Orban arise when they capture the people who believe in supernaturalism, such as Christianity, which is many people.

But the main issue is econoic: Hungary produces very little, has had a mass exodous of youth within the last decade, is highly xenophobic and has little global significance, at the moment.
