ðŸ‡ðŸ‡ºðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºThe open threat to sabotage the Hungarian economy and the jubilant derision of approval from European Union extremists in response to the announced sanctions are utterly vile. The ecstasy displayed by political hooliganism in our part of the world is simply a sad confirmation of an equally disheartening fact: the crude authoritarian tendencies of our self-proclaimed liberals.
In the case of Hungary, a country pursuing its own interests in an area where it has full rights within the EU, there is an attempt to use blatant coercion. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the instruments of blackmail are intentionally constructed to center on matters that are formally unrelated to the dispute's core. Hungary does not wish to contribute to a separate aid package for Ukraine that is not part of the EU budget and is funded by all member states. They have every right to do so. This is not a matter that justifies withholding EU funds.
Be cognizant that this serves as an illustration of what the EU's beating hearts — Brussels and Berlin — are capable of inflicting on a weaker nation. Polish and Bulgarian Ukraine supporters' enjoyment of putting pressure on Hungary is naïve and dumb! And frustrating.
Please stay sharp! Maintain your mental clarity and focus. Honestly, I do not hold Viktor Orban in the highest regard. But, believe me, you can still criticize his choices and decisions without cheering for every random move the EU makes against governments it does not like!
For the past eight years, I have criticized Kaczyński's rule in Poland and his party, Law and Justice. I was against their rampage in the Constitutional Court, their brutal takeover of the state media, their fear mongering, xenophobia, racism, and hysterical approach to Russia, Germany, the EU, and pretty much any international issue, and their unprecedented attack on women by effectively outlawing abortion in Poland.
Simultaneously, I vehemently opposed the blatantly dishonest method of withholding the European Union funds that had been loaned to Poland;Â this is politics here, not a football stadium or a tribal dispute. While not having access to the EU-borrowed funds on its behalf, the Polish government is still required to repay regular installments. How is this acceptable?
You are of course right about the EU and its fascist top-down corporatist agenda. Hungary, itself a fascist theocracy, in regards to geo-politics and maintaining sovereignty in this case is justified.
The EU will crumble as Europe is de-industrialized and austerity becomes the norm.
Europe is now merely a vassal of the US.
Eastern Europe is a battlefield in and of itself.
All movements towards nationalistic fascism, be they Kazynski in Poland or Orban in Hungary, are brought about by, in this case, the 'liberal garden' while the rest of the world is considered the jungle.
The US hopes that European countries will find a home in the US and re-industrialize the seedy, little cut-rate carny.
But this is impossible for the cost of healthcare, transport, food and clothing makes workers in the US non-competitive, while classical economics understood that these costs should be born by the State, not a privatized trickle up economy.
Alas, America suicided a while ago and you can watch the car crash they call Europe sinking further and further into poverty while fascism is on the rise.
Everything is built on a mountain of debt and as long as this debt, credit card, personal, business, etc., and its compounded interest must be paid to the ruling class, the 'cost of labor' will become prohibitive and transnational corporations will settle where labor is cheapest both in terms of salaries and benefits, if any.
